  • KS2 Christmas Performance

    Mon 16 Dec 2019

This afternoon, pupils from every Key Stage 2 class performed a Christmas musical called Witnesses.  The children put on an amazing performance with their acting and singing- congratulations to every pupil.  Congratulations to our School Orchestra and Singing Squad for their beautiful playing and singing.

Thank you to all the families for their support at Monday's performance and I'm sorry that some of you had to stand.  I don't recall seeing so many families in the hall! Next year we will do the same as the KS1/EYFS Christmas performance and invite parents with pre school children to a morning show so hopefully everyone can have a seat.

  • Gervase Phinn opens new library

    Tue 10 Dec 2019 Headteacher

We have enjoyed a very memorable day as special VIP international author Gervase Phinn opened our new school library.

During the morning, Mrs Earle organised the giving out of brand new books for every pupil in the school, courtesy of funding from the National Literacy Trust.

Gervase arrived after lunch and then did a talk for the whole school about his books and inspiration for his ideas including some life like animal puppets!

After the talk, Gervase officially opened our brand new school library along with school governors,  parents, grandparents, a North Yorkshire adviser and pupils from every class.

Thanks to all the families who came after school to meet Gervase.

A huge thanks to all the people who have made today possible.

    Thu 05 Dec 2019 Headteacher

Bluebells class, Class 1 and Class 2 have performed their Christmas play - Higgledy Piggledy Nativity yesterday and this afternoon. As always, it was fantastic to see all the support from families who clearly enjoyed the performance. The acting, singing and signing were wonderful.

Congratulations to all the children, especially those who had to take on parts at the last minute because of poorly children.

  • Y3 and Y4 on a Nativity Journey

    Mon 02 Dec 2019 Headteacher

Classes 3 and 4 enjoyed their visit to SCF church this afternoon to take part in a Nativity Journey.  The children started the journey in a time machine and travelled back to Nazareth to speak to key characters from over two thousand years ago before Jesus' birth.
