  • Scarborough Borough Councillors visit

    Fri 22 Feb 2019 Headteacher
We were delighted to welcome three Scarborough Borough Councillors to school this morning. The three councillors sit on the cabinet of the Borough Council.  They came to have a look around school and then take questions from our School Council.  The councillors were very impressed with the pupils' questions and responded with lots of information on subjects including plastic pollution in the sea, public toilets, litter and safety around the town.
  • Maths Parents Meeting

    Mon 18 Feb 2019 Headteacher

Thank you to all the parents who came along after school to find out more about how to help your child with Maths.  Mr Taylor, our Maths subject leader organised the evening and class teachers ran workshops with the children to show how we teach Maths and how we learn our multiplication tables and key facts.

  • Walk to School

    Wed 13 Feb 2019 Headteacher

As the week has gone on, it has been great to see the huge increase in families walking from the Seacliff car park as well as along Filey Road.

On Monday, 57 raffle tickets were issued at Seacliff rising to 130 this morning.  Hopefully, the final day will be the best yet. If you haven't met Spike the hedgehog, tomorrow is your final chance.  Many thanks to the Police and road safety officer for their hard work this week.

Thanks to all our families who have engaged with this healthy initiative and please continue this over the coming months. Please note, I did say that pupils arriving by bike or bus would also receive a raffle ticket.

A big thank you to our own Wheatcroft Junior Road Safety Officers as well as other Y6s who have been giving out the raffle tickets this week.

  • New outdoor gym opening

    Mon 04 Feb 2019 Headteacher

We were delighted to welcome representatives from Tescos this afternoon to formally open our new outdoor gym equipment. Mrs England made a grant application to Tescos last term about improving the health of our pupils and being active.

We were delighted to receive a cheque for £2000 which, when added to our Sport Grant funding, covered the cost of installing the new gym equipment.  All Key Stage 2 classes have had their induction and are really enjoying the new equipment!
