  • Reading Challenge 2017

    Fri 22 Sep 2017 Headteacher

It was fantastic to see how many of our pupils had completed the Summer Reading Challenge over the holiday.  This year's theme was Animal Agents and the children had clearly enjoyed the range of books they had read.

Well done to all the pupils!

A reminder to pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 that this counts as an activity in their Children's University Passport so please get a stamp!

  • New School Council Representatives

    Fri 08 Sep 2017 Headteacher

At the beginning of every school year, each class elects two school council representatives who meet every term with Miss Hartley and a governor to review what's been going well in school and bringing new ideas from their class about how to improve the school further.

The newly elected representatives were announced this afternoon at our Friday Achievement Assembly and badges were given out.  We also have two representatives from our school Wheaties club.

Many congratulations to the following pupils: Oscar, Faith, Craig, Cleo, Thomas, Lena, Ted, Rosa, Kassie, Hector, Rosie, Jayden, Lewis, Archie and Freya.

    Photograph to follow on Monday.

  • New Y6 House Captains 2017

    Fri 08 Sep 2017 Headteacher

There was great excitement at our Friday Achievement assembly this afternoon as the results were announced for which Year 6 pupils had been elected as House Captains. House Captains are elected by Year 6 pupils who democratically vote for their chosen candidate following a talk by each candidate to the class explaining why they would be best for the job!

The houses are: Cornelian (red), Holbeck (yellow), Seaview (blue) and Deepdale (green).  Throughout the week, all pupils are awarded house points for achievement in any area.  They are then added up on a Friday and the cup is awarded in the Friday achievement assembly. House Captains often represent the school as ambassadors during the year.

Congratulations to Harley, Archie, Grace, Mae, Ashley, Jayden, Aisha and Sam.

  • New Term

    Thu 07 Sep 2017 Headteacher

We have had a lovely, calm start to the new school year and pupils have settled in very well to their new classes.  All the staff are really impressed with the good attitude shown by their new pupils well done!

Over the summer holiday, we have had decorating work done in the hall including new purple curtains and new carpets in Year 2 and Year 4 so the school looks very smart!

Here's some photographs of the new classes and first few days of the Autumn term.

Do please check out the class pages for more information about the year ahead.
