  • Off Site Visits

    Thu 19 Sep 2019 Headteacher

It has been a very busy first month of the new term with off site visits to Flamborough Head by Year 6, South Bay beach by Year 4 and Danby by Year 3.  These visits are all about using our school Locality Driver to enrich our childrens' learning experiences.

The Year 6 Flamborough visit was a geography one to learn about coastal features. Year 4's visit was to use the beach to create art works and learn beach craft skills.  Year 3's visit was a history one to learn about how to survive in the Stone Age!

Once again, two of these visits could not have taken place without the PTA subsidising the bus and familes kindly making a contribution to the costs.

  • Skip2B Fit

    Tue 10 Sep 2019 Headteacher

All Key Stage 1 and 2 classes enjoyed a very active Skipping or Box 2BFit workshop with Dave Gibson this week.  It is a few years since Dave visited Wheatcroft and he was very impressed with the excellent attitude and hard work of all our pupils in his workshops. Well done!

  • New School Council Representatives

    Tue 10 Sep 2019 Headteacher

At Friday's Achievement Assembly, the new Wheatcroft School Council representatives were announced.  Each Key Stage 1 and 2 class democratically choose their representatives who will be the class pupil voice through the year.  The school council meet every term with governors and the Headteacher and review their learning and bring new ideas to what they would like to see in school.

Congratulations to Flynn, Tre, Imogen, Sam, Eden, Daisy, Edie, Finley, Seth, Nicola, Sonny, Mia, George and Brooke.

Our first meeting is this Thursday morning.

  • New House Captains

    Fri 06 Sep 2019 Headteacher

Following a very rigorous election, Year 6 pupils have elected their new House Captain for the year.  Every child who stood for election received some votes and some won by just one vote - very close!

Congratulations to all the Year 6 pupils who prepared their presentation/speech and did so well.

Well done to Scarlett, Betsy, Betty, April, Toby, Ted, Finley and Rio.
