  • Year 3 Closure

    Mon 28 Sep 2020 Headteacher

Unfortunately, we have had a positive Covid test in our Year 3 class today.  I was notified after school tonight so am very sorry about the short notice for Year 3 families but the Year 3 class will have to remain closed from now and will reopen on Wednesday 7th October.  Siblings of Year 3 pupils may come into school as normal unless they develop Covid symptoms.

Be assured that Miss Clapham will be on Class Dojos every morning and will support home learning over the the next week.  We had already prepared home learning packs and we will try and distribute them tomorrow.

Thank you for your support at this difficult time.

    Miss Hartley

  • New House Captains

    Mon 21 Sep 2020 Headteacher

Year 6 pupils have elected their new house captains for the year ahead.  Over half the class presented a speech to their class to persuade them to vote for them and the results were extremely close with just a vote separating the elected children. Congratulations to Harvey, Carmen, Sam, Freddie, Eden, Ethan, Libby, Phoebe and Thomas who are the new captains for Seaview (Blue team), Holbeck (yellow), Deepdale (green) and Cornelian (red). We hope that they will demonstrate all the school character traits this year and set a good example to the rest of the school as school ambassadors.

  • Wheatcroft live on BBC Radio York

    Thu 10 Sep 2020 Headteacher
    BBC Radio York Broadcast today
This morning, we had a reporter from Radio York visit school to find out how the children were settling back into the new school year.  I want to congratulate both Year 5 pupils for the wonderful job they did as ambassadors for Wheatcroft as they were interviewed live on Georgey Spanswick's morning breakfast show.  One of the pupil's parents did a great job in her interview too. If you want to hear their interview and mine, log in to the 10th September recording of the morning show on the BBC Radio York website at 2 hours and 36 minutes and then 3 hours 35 minutes.  In my interview, you can hear the Bluebells children playing in the background having a lovely morning.  She was very complimentary about how well all the children were settled back into school. You will also hear a great joke from one of the pupils!
