  • Children in Need 2021

    Fri 19 Nov 2021 Headteacher

It is two years since we have been able to support the Children in Need appeal and Wheatcroft families have once again supported this worthy cause so generously. We have been following the national anti bullying theme in our assemblies this week with the focus - One Kind Word/Action. Today, this has been perfectly shown through how well the children have shown their compassion for Children in Need.  The current total is £410.59 raised from the sale of cakes and biscuits -

THANK YOU so much as this is our highest amount for many years.
I have completed my cakeathon challenge over the day and will not be touching any cakes for a while!

  • Remembrance Day

    Thu 11 Nov 2021 Headteacher

It was very special to be able to come together this morning for our school Remembrance assembly and hold the 2 minute silence together. Some Year 6 pupils read the World War 1 poem Flanders Field as well as the school Singing Squad performing Fields of Poppies and everyone singing We Will Remember.

In classes, children have been thinking about remembrance and why it is so important to our country as well as the world.  Lots of lovely art activities have been done as well.

    £872.55 raised by Wheatcroft pupils!

Thank you so much.  We have never raised anywhere near this total before.

  • Image Musical Theatre visit

    Wed 10 Nov 2021 Headteacher

Image Musical Theatre company visited the school for our first live performance since November 2019! The Reluctant Dragon was enjoyed by all our pupils with Key Stage 2 pupils viewing the performance live in the morning and all other pupils seeing the performance later. Please get your child to tell you about the play tonight. Congratulations to some of our pupils who volunteered to join the cast for the play.
My thanks to the PTA who have once again covered the cost of this so every pupil can experience a musical in school.
