  • New school council representatives

    Mon 20 Sep 2021 Headteacher

At the beginning of every school year, each Key Stage 1 and 2 class elect two school council representatives who will meet every term with the Headteacher and a governor to discuss and share suggestions.  We want every Wheatcroft pupil to be aware that this process is a vital part of learning what democracy is about and being part of British values.

Congratulations to these pupils who all had to put themselves forward and talk to their classes about how they would represent them at meetings.

  • Second Week-September

    Fri 17 Sep 2021 Headteacher

As you will see from the Newsletter, we have enjoyed a really positive second week in school. Our new Early Years Class (Bluebells) have settled in very well - see attached photograph of some very happy children!
We have been thinking about Teamwork in our assemblies this week and how vital this is for our school community to run well. Please ask your child to tell you all about our houses (Cornelian (red), Deepdale (green), Holbeck (yeloow) adn Seaview (blue).
A reminder - please remember, that the school day starts at 8.45am.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  • First Week back

    Fri 10 Sep 2021 Headteacher

We have enjoyed a very happy and settled first week back after the summer holiday. The lovely September sunshine has been enjoyed by all pupils as we have enjoyed outdoor time at playtimes and for PE lessons. I want to congratulate all our pupils on how well they have been working and for their positive attitude in lessons and at playtimes. We have spent some time looking at our school Code of Conduct in lessons and assemblies and I hope this positive behaviour continues throughout the year. Please ask your child to tell you the four rules on our Code of Conduct.
Please have a good read through our first Newsletter of the school year (in the Parent section of the website) and remember this is the longest one of the year!  Please see the photographs of the newly elected House Captains for Cornelian, Deepdale, Holbeck and Seaview. We were delighted that 20/31 Year 6 pupils had the courage to present a talk to the whole class in preparing for the democratic election - well done!
Covid measures - as you know, we are continuing to be careful about keeping safety measures in place around the school site and inside classrooms.  It is really appreciated that parent/carers coming on site keep socially distanced from one another.
If you have any questions about your child, please get in touch with the class teacher via ClassDojos or school office.
    Have a lovely weekend.

    Miss Hartley
