  • Latest School Covid Update

    Fri 21 Jan 2022 Headteacher

We have had a challenging week because of the number of pupils and staff off with Covid. Currently one in five children has Covid along with a significant group of staff.
Unfortunately, our Year 6 Class will be moving to home learning on Monday because of cases hitting just under 50%. Hopefully, Year 6 pupils will return to school on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Other classes with groups of 5 or more pupils off are Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5.
Bluebells, Year 2 and Year 4 have very few cases at present.
I am aware that this is the opposite news of what the government is currently sharing. However, we will all need to take extra care over the next few weeks and hope that the cases can quickly fall at school and around Scarborough.
All of the staff really appreciate your support with carrying out testing and keeping your child at home if they display any symptoms - THANK YOU!
    Have a restful weekend everyone.

  • January update

    Fri 14 Jan 2022 Headteacher

I thought I would share some photographs of Year 2's Zumba session this afternoon which Year 1 and Year 3 pupils have also really enjoyed today.
In our school assemblies this week, we have been thinking about celebrating some of the great men and women from our past and what a difference they made for us today. I'll be delighted if they can remember any of them and tell you a little bit about them!
After school clubs have all restarted this week and gone very well well and it is great to see how many pupils gave signed up for them - well done!
Year 4 and Year 5 pupils enjoyed their first swimming session this week - our first visit to the Everyone Active pools since March 2020!

Sadly, we have seen more Covid cases this week both amongst pupils, families and staff so do please keep being vigilant about checking any symptoms and if possible doing a lateral flow test.  Some of our pupils this week have been sick and then tested positive so please watch out for this as well as the headaches, coughs and temperature.  As well as the opposite - some pupils have no symptoms but have tested positive.

    Have a peaceful weekend everyone.

  • Happy New Year 2022

    Tue 04 Jan 2022 Headteacher

Happy New Year to all of you!
Please see our first Newsletter of 2022 with important information about school clubs and other updates. I will also be posting the latest Covid guidance issued by the Government two days ago (see above).

We are all really looking forward to seeing the children return to school tomorrow. Just another reminder - school starts at 8.45am when children need to be in their classrooms ready for learning. Also, please send back in PE kit (labelled) ready for PE lessons this week. Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 will be doing Zumba on a Friday afternoon this term as part of their PE curriculum and Year 4 and Year 5 will be going swimming on a Tuesday morning - a very healthy start to the new year!
