  • Pop UK visit Wheatcroft

    Tue 24 Nov 2020 Headteacher
All four Key Stage 2 classes have really enjoyed a musical morning with Pop UK via Zoom today. The children have learnt three brand new Christmas songs which we will be practising this week before recording and sending off for editing. You will get to hear these new songs before the holiday. Some of you will remember our last Pop UK concert at St Andrew's church five years ago when Year 6 were in Year 1!
My thanks to our wonderful PTA who funded this project.

  • Anti Bullying Week

    Fri 20 Nov 2020 Headteacher
As you will see on today's Newsletter, in school this week we have participated in National Anti Bullying week. All our classes have done work about Bullying as well as in my class assemblies. I wanted to share with you a lovely piece of work from Mrs Earle's Year 2 class. This year's theme of United against Bullying is a brilliant focus as more than ever, staying united and working together as a school community helps every single child attending Wheatcroft. Please have a look at Year 2's work.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  • Remembrance Day

    Wed 11 Nov 2020 Headteacher
Thank you for your support with buying Poppies this week. All donations will go the British Legion. Every class stopped work at 11am today to take part in the 2 minute silence and remember the sacrifices made by so many. As well as class assemblies this week, some classes have made Poppies including Class 1 and Class 5. Five Year 6 pupils read the war poem Flanders Field this morning in a special Remembrance Class Assembly.

  • First Week back-November

    Fri 06 Nov 2020 Headteacher
We have enjoyed a good start to this half term and as I said on the Newsletter, lessons both inside and outside of school are continuing as before.  I have attached some photographs of Miss Andrews' Year 4 class from their geography visit this week which was really enjoyed by the class. Scarborough looks like the Mediterranean despite it being November!
Thank you very much for your support with wearing face masks on the school site tonight and for keeping socially distanced from each other.
Have a good weekend and please stay safe in your own family Bubbles over this Lockdown period.
