  • Happy half term

    Fri 23 Oct 2020 Headteacher

I hope our families on ClassDojo really enjoy our Harvest Festival filmed this week with contributions from every class. My thanks to Mr Levett for putting all the clips together. For safeguarding reasons, please don’t share this on any social media platforms.
Over half term, we have had builders on site who are constructing a new path across our field and gate on Filey Road for Wheatcroft pupils to use. St Martin’s school are sharing the cost of this project which will enable both schools to keep pupils separate during the present Covid situation and beyond.

I am really pleased that four of our classes have had very successful off site visits this half term with Year 1's science visit to the Rotunda museum and beach, Year 3's science visit to look at rocks in the local cliffs, Year 4's art visit to the beach and Year 5's science visit to look at sea shore ecology.
I hope all of you have a really happy half term week off and plenty of rest.
Thank you for all your support through this very difficult half term and a big well done to all the pupils for settling back into school so well.
    Miss Hartley x

  • Harvest Collection

    Tue 20 Oct 2020 Headteacher

Thank you so much for so generously supporting our Harvest Collection today.  We are delighted with how much produce arrived at the school gates.  These gifts will be really appreciated by people from all over Scarborough and shows what our School Driver of being a Caring Community is about.

On the photograph, our Year 6 House Captains and school council

representatives sorted the boxes ready for collection.

Morrisons will be collecting the produce and sharing between the Rainbow Centre, Salvation Army and Westway Open Arms.

  • Year 1 visit to Rotunda Museum

    Fri 09 Oct 2020 Headteacher
    Dear Parent/Carer
I know the teachers from Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 have really enjoyed updating you on your child's start to the new school year at our parent/carer phone calls this week. I am really pleased we have managed to talk to most families.  Year 5 and Year 6 are next week and then Bluebells after half term.
What better way to finish the week then with a very successful visit by our Year 1 class to the Rotunda Museum and South Bay beach today to find out about our Dinosaur Coast.  My thanks to Mrs Foster for organising this lovely off site visit in connection with their Linked Learning topic on Dinosaurs.
    Have a lovely weekend everyone
    Miss Hartley
