  • Funky Friday Activities

    Fri 24 May 2019 Headteacher

All the children enjoyed a sporty Funky Friday on the Key Stage 2 field and playground this morning.

The Key Stage 2 teams run by Year 5 pupils had to come up with sixteen different activities for pupils from Bluebells, Year 1 and Year 2 to test out.  They were given just half an hour to design a game/skill drill with any equipment they wanted to use which certainly tested the character trait of being an independent and resourceful learner. The results were fantastic and we will be using some of the pupil designed games at our Sports Days in June.

  • Careers Day

    Mon 20 May 2019 Headteacher

We have had our first ever Careers morning which Mrs Beedham organised to try and inspire our pupils about their future in the world of work.  The focus was seeing how our school character traits of: independence, resilience, effective communication, compassion, tolerance, courage, integrity and citizenship are critical for most jobs.

We are very grateful to all the parents, governors and friends of the school who gave up their morning to work with our Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.  It was fantastic to have such diversity of jobs for the children to find out about which included: the police, army, navy, solicitor, engineering and machine, plumbing and heating, doctor, physiotherapist, banker, teacher, sales industry, animal handler, mental health, herbalist and the care industry.  We also had a vet visit Bluebells in the afternoon who spoke to Year 6 pupils about her job afterwards.

See photographs of our wonderful morning!
