Year 6 East Barnby residential visit
Friday 1st October
The children have enjoyed a good night's sleep and packing is finished (apart from the odd sock that no one can recognise!).
Shelter building in the woods has gone well this morning and the children are enjoying their final lunch at East Barnby before setting off home to Scarborough. ETA at school will hopefully be around 2.30pm but Mr Levett will send a ClassDojo message when the bus is setting off.
I will post some photographs from today on the website later.
Thursday 30th September
The children and staff have had a good night's sleep and everyone has enjoyed a tasty breakfast including: a range of cereals, yogurt, fruit, bacon, egg, mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns and toast!
I will post some photographs when we get back from the canoeing.
The River Esk is waiting for us ...
Thursday evening 7.30pm
We have had another fantastic day with every child achieving really well. Year 6 parents and families should feel very proud of how well every child has tackled every challenge over the last two days.
We canoed from near Ruswarp all the way down to Whitby harbour today and were really lucky with dry weather all day. As well as seeing the North Yorkshire Moors steam trains, we saw some wildlife including;
a kingfisher, a heron and lots of ducks! Everyone is enjoying the campfire now and toasting some marshmallows & then we will have supper.
Wednesday 29th September
Year 6 have had to wait a very long time for this visit (March 2020) when the children were in Year 4!
Today has been a fantastic day with every pupil displaying great courage and teamwork as the three groups went beck scrambling. Pupils have really pushed themselves to cross the very cold beck water as well as scrambling through boulders and very tight spaces. Most of the children and their teacher braved the famous Leap into the pool!

We have enjoyed tea and are about to get ready for our evening activity- sledging.
