Wheatcroft enjoyed some very special visitors this afternoon as Sir Alan and Lady Heather Ayckbourn visited to listen to our Year 6 class, Year 5 class and Year 4 Singing Squad pupils record two old hymns for his new play - A Brief History of Women.  The play will have its world premier at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in September and willfeature the recordings made this afternoon as our pupils play the part of an old prep school assembly from the 1940s.  We were delighted that both our visitors stayed after the recording and answered questions from the children about writing plays and actors he's worked with.
