New MUGA opened

This afternoon we successfully opened our incredible new school MUGA (Multi-use Games Area) in beautiful sunshine.

All pupils were spaced outside safely in their class bubbles and we were able to meet physically for the first time since March 2020. The pupils were thrilled to see Miss Hartley, who came to join us for the opening, along with three of our school governors. Mr Baxter, our Chair of Governors cut the ribbon across one of the goals and it was so special to see and hear the children's excitement as they watched the first goals being scored!

Our MUGA is the result of over a years planning and many more years in saving money from our Sports funding (£77,000 in total.) The MUGA is an all year round sports facility which means whatever the weather, our pupils can access their PE lessons, Sports clubs and playtimes on it. It is the same size as our Key Stage 2 playground and I'm sure you will agree, it is an excellent facility that our children (and future Wheatcroft pupils) can enjoy for many years to come. We are certainly very proud of it.
