KS2 Sports Day
It is two years since we were last able to celebrate Sports Days in school so today felt like a real celebration.
Because of still keeping our classes in bubbles, Year 3 and Year 4 had their sports day in the morning with Year 6 sports ambassadors supporting our four house teams: Holbeck, Deepdale, Cornelian and Seaview followed by Year 5 and Year 6 in the afternoon with Year 4 pupils scoring the events.
For the first hour, the teams moved round different activities including: long jump, vortex throw, sponge pass, skipping relay. golf target, slalom relay, space hopper relay, obstacle course, cricket, hurdle relays, egg and spoon, tennis relay and penalty shoot out.
The second half consisted of running events - sprint and the lap.
Our four classes competed really well and showed endeavour in all the events. Deepdale were crowned winners and two Y6 pupils were presented with the Sports Jubilee cup. Cornelian finished in second place with 1159, Holbeck in third place with 1083 points and Seaview in fourth place with 1046 points. We are looking forward to our Key Stage 1 classes and Early Years class doing their Sports Day tomorrow.
I am so sorry that we were not able to have families on site to support today but look forward to welcoming everyone again next year.
