Class 1
Meet the Team!
Miss J Harper Miss T Warrington
In Year One, Miss Harper is the class teacher and the class is supported by Miss Warrington every day. Mr Collins teaches the children PE and _______ on a Wednesday afternoon.
The children come into school and start their busy day with handwriting and learn through a topic based approach. The children are taught a discreet phonic session, number sense session, literacy and mathematics on a daily basis. They also make use of the hall and MUGA in PE.
We enjoy using our outside learning area to support our topic based learning and to build upon the school character traits.

The Phonics Screening Check - Information for Parents
-
What is the phonics screening check? All children in Year 1 take the phonics screening check in June. It is designed to give teachers and parents information on how your child is progressing in phonics. It will help to identify whether your child needs additional support at this stage so that they do not fall behind in this vital early reading skill. Please follow the link to learn more about the phonics screening check.
