School Council

Each year every class (excluding Bluebells) elect two of their peers to act as their representatives on the School Council. Elections are undertaken in a democratic way, with children nominating themselves via a letter of intent to the Headteacher. Children and staff then vote for candidates and those with the highest number of votes is elected to the School Council for the year.

The school council meets regularly with the support of Mrs Cattle, the staff representative, to share and discuss ideas and whole school issues, and it allows the children’s voice to be heard. Topics can range from making decisions on the learning environment to deciding on elements of the curriculum and even being involved in staff recruitment processes.

In 2023/24 the School Council ran a very successful initiative to promote active ways to get to school in conjunction with the national Walk to School Week Project. We look forward to similar success and endeavour this school year!

Our School Councillors for 2024/25 are:

Class 1 Class 2 Class 3

Class 4 Class 5 Class 6
