Uniform
We are very proud of how smart our pupils look in their school uniforms and ask all parents to ensure their child attends in the items noted below:
Our school uniform consists of:
- Grey trousers, skirts, shorts, pinafore dresses
- Yellow polo t-shirt – with or without the embroidered school logo on
- Grey sweatshirt or cardigan - with or without the embroidered school logo on
- Yellow checked summer dresses
- Sensible black school shoes (black trainers are allowed so long as they are plain black)
We understand how expensive school uniform can be and do not require children to wear logo t-shirts and sweatshirts. However, if you do wish to buy these items, they are available from Rumours on Victoria Road. Non-logo items are available widely from supermarkets and other clothing shops such as Matalan, Primark, Marks & Spencer and Next.
We also support the local Scarborough Uniform Hub and donate all unnamed lost property uniform to them on a termly basis. They have a 'giveaway day' once every half term where anyone can pop along to collect freshly laundered and packaged items for their child/ren free of charge. We advertise these dates on our Dojo and social media and it can be a really useful way of replacing lost items.
Our PE Kit consists of:
- Plain white t-shirt
- Plain black shorts
- Plain black tracksuit bottoms (optional for winter / outdoor PE)
- Plimsolls / trainers
In Year 4 children have swimming lessons and will need either a one-piece swimming costume or swimming shorts/trunks. They will also need to bring a towel.
Hair & Jewellery:
Children's hair should be a single natural colour. If your child has long hair, please provide them with a hair tie to wear during PE, Art and other appropriate lessons. Tram lines, patterns and messages should not be shaved into short hair.
Children are allowed to wear a single stud or a pair of stud earnings. They should not wear hoop, drop or dangling earrings. Please ensure your child does not wear earrings on PE days as they must remove them for these lessons. If they cannot remove them, your child may need to take part in a slightly altered activity to ensure their safety. This is a directive from the local authority and AFPE.
Children may also wear a watch but no other items of jewellery such as rings, necklaces, bracelets due to the risk of injury to themselves and others.
Please note jewellery worn for religious reasons is allowed but must be covered during activity and lessons as appropriate.
Other items / information:
-
Please provide an apron/overall for children to wear when doing art and craft activities to protect their uniform. A parent’s old shirt works well!
-
Children should all come to school dressed appropriately for the weather – including a warm and waterproof winter coat, hat, gloves in the winter and a sunhat in the summer.
-
Children should also bring a refillable water bottle which they can drink from and refill throughout the day.
