Wheatcroft School Association - PTA

Welcome to Wheatcroft school

On behalf of Wheatcroft school’s PTA I would like to welcome you and your child to our school. You are probably not aware that you are now automatically a member of the schools Parent Teacher Association – don’t panic, it doesn't mean you have to organise the next Christmas event!

The PTA is here to provide the school with resources which they otherwise wouldn't be able to afford for your children. We have donated money for both the play areas that are in the infant & junior playgrounds. We also help provide such things as coaches for school trips, theatre groups to visit, swimming lessons for junior children and numerous smaller items which otherwise would have had to come out of the school budget or not happen at all.

The PTA can only help our school buy the “extras” which improve our children's early education with your help. We aim to organise various events throughout the year to raise money and, just as importantly, have fun. Recent events have included a Pamper Evening, Easter Disco, Y6 Talents competition, Christmas Fair, as well as our continuing Bonus Ball fundraiser and regular jumble collections which also benefit the great North Air Ambulance. The last event for the school year is our summer party which includes a barbecue and bouncy castle.

As Chair of the PTA committee I very much appreciate that not everyone would want to be involved at the “sharp end” of all these events. We can always do with help in many small ways such as putting tickets on tombola prizes, helping sort jumble, tidying up at the end of events etc. If you are able to help out please fill in the details underneath and hand into the school office.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to seeing you and your family at our future events. Minutes of our meetings will be posted on the PTA section of the school website and requests for help publicised through ParentMail.
