World Book Day
The snow and ice did not stop Wheatcroft pupils enjoying World Book Day today.
Miss Flinton launched the day with a whole school assembly all about Share a Story which was then followed by a mass book swap! Pupils could bring in a book they'd read and swap it for a different book.
In the afternoon, all the classes swapped around so that older pupils could read books to younger ones and vice versa.
In Bluebells, we had a class of pirates who were doing work on the book Pirates Love Underpants by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort! As you can see from the photographs, the pirates had to walk the plank! A very big thank you to Bluebells families for finding all the amazing pirate costumes.
Once the snow is cleared, I hope the children can go in to Scarborough and visit some book shops and spend their £1 book voucher token.
