Welcome to Year 1!

In Year One, Miss Harper is the class teacher and the class is supported by Miss Warrington and Miss McGlinchey. Mrs Silby supports Year 1 each afternoon. Mrs Hayes teaches RE and visits the library on a Wednesday afternoon. 

The children come into school and start their busy day with handwriting and learn through a topic based approach. The children are taught a discreet phonic session, number sense session, literacy and mathematics on a daily basis. They also make use of the hall and MUGA in PE. 

We enjoy using our outside learning area to support our topic based learning and to build upon the school character traits.
