On Tuesday evening, Mrs Smith took our Year 5/6 girls football team to the Flamingoland Stadium to compete in the Scarborough and District cup tournament.

In the group stages, the team won 2 games, lost one and drew one and went through to the semi final. In the semi final, they beat Newby and Scalby school 2-0 and then played St Martin's in the final. The score was 1-1 at full time and then it was sudden death penalties.  Libby scored our first goal and then the penalty was missed so Wheatcroft were crowned champions!  The whole team played brilliantly in all the games and teamwork was excellent.
